How Error Repair Stacks Up as a Registry Cleaner

Error Repair is a registry repair instrument used for Windows. It is very easy to learn and use, even if you're not entirely sure what the registry is used for in the first place.

One thing that sets Error Repair apart from some of its basic competitors is that you can run a full scan of your registry, or you can run a partial scan and simply focus on those areas that you wish to look at. When you scan items individually, the scan is quicker and you get a more focused result. Other programs only allow you to perform a full scan of your entire registry which is still very valuable, but can present a lot of information at once.

Some things that the program searches for are uninstall entries that are unneeded, file extensions that aren't being used, cookies, ActiveX and dll entries that are not listed properly, startup entries, and history files.

Although the scans that are performed are not as fast as some of the scans that similar programs offer, they are pretty accurate and extensive. As the scan progresses, you are able to see the errors that are unearthed. You might be surprised at the amount of errors that your registry actually contains.

There are complaints about the Windows Error Repair software and some people think that there are startup programs that are listed erroneously as errors. This happens from time to time with almost any registry error repair program, however, and there really isn't anything that you can do to stop this from happening, although you can stop these from being deleted.

If you are using the free trial version of this program then after it scans for errors there isn't anything left for the program to do. If you want the system error repair routine to complete then you will have to purchase the full program. Unfortunately, while you might be able to see the errors that are uncovered on your computer, you won't be able to repair them and see if your computer works better unless you pay for the entire thing. This might be a turn off for some people.

Still, if you do purchase the program you will be able to repair each item on its own or repair everything at once and that's a good thing. The program typically sells for $29.97 on most websites. This is about average for such programs, although you can still find basic registry cleaners for free, too.
