Free Registry Fix - It's Not Free, but it Will Scan and Repair Your Registry
As the name implies, Free Registry Fix is a registry cleaning software program. However, although touted as a free registry cleaner fix, it's not free. So what does it do and what aspects of the program must you pay for?
Basically, Free Registry Fix will scan your registry on a daily basis and fix any problems that it might find in the process. Types of problems that it might encounter and fix include invalid registry entries, broken links, and other clutter that are clogging up your registry and making your computer run more slowly.
By doing this, the speed of your system should be able to function at its best capacity. This works because your registry is the place where your operating system keeps its settings for all of the applications that are installed as well as file associations.
Of course, you can go through and manually repair your registry. However, this is normally not advised unless you are well-versed in computers and know what you're doing. It's pretty easy to make a mistake and a costly mistake could wreck havoc on your operating system. Instead, using Free Registry Fix software to fix these errors for you is far more prudent.
A catch with Windows Free Registry Fix is that to get the most features out of it, you will have to purchase the premium program. It costs $29.95. Although the basic program will still do many of the same features, you will be limited as to what you can do. You will also only get 50 trials with the free function and then you'll have to upgrade it to the paid version of the software.
The interface is easy to use and even if you haven't ran the program before you shouldn't have any trouble running it. If you do something that you didn't want to do, there is a backup function and an undo option which are definitely worth noting.
Some people don't like the fact that the Free Registry Fix program doesn't let you choose which part of the registry you want to scan. You basically either have to scan the entire registry or nothing at all. On the positive side, however, it will scan the registry without needing to be rebooted so you can still work while it's doing its job.
Scanning your registry on a regular basis and repairing problems can help your computer work more efficiently. However, it's important to note that while this program does get good reviews, the word "Free" is still a little misleading.
